hey I got a job, saved some cash, and i really want a decent camera to film some tricks this winter. a couple of friends and i want to put together a semi-long,well made movie, and i gotta figure out what camera to buy. my price range is like between 500-800. i dont know if i should go with all digital stuff and not use tapes, or if i should go with mini-dv?
just give me some input.. thanks!

well, mini dv IS digital. first off go with miniDV. some options you should research for your price range are the gs500/400., gl1, trv900, trv950, probably some more. google those and see what suits your needs

if you want a canon, get a gl2, they are sick, gl1's are kinda crappy. for a 800 dollar 3ccd camera, the vx1000 might be the best, its much better than a gl1.
i say save up a little more and buy a vx2000(2100 if you can afford it) or a gl2
