Message searching?

i dont know about anyone else, but i think in my messages section we should have a search area. just where you can search your messages for all the messages from a certain user...i have something like 1600 messages and looking back to find ones even from 2 days ago takes quite awhile...discuss.

such a good idea. maybe have some way of seeing all the people you've messaged. that way you could pick out the user then see your conversation(s) with that person

that's not a bad idea. like when you are in someone's profile, you can click "view message history" or whatever. except have a page where it lists the people that you have messaged, then you can click on it and view message history

Or you could just find their name on the online list or from a thread, and click "view message exchange" like skipig said.

yeah but if you can't remember the persons name then you're out of luck.

an example would be. a while back this guy offered to give me some helly hansen stickers if i sent him a SASE. i forgot about the offer but now i want to find the message where he gave me his address. but i don't know his user name. so your way wouldn't work in this situation

that only works on that one page and the whole point is to find messages something like 37 or w.e number pages away.
