Used to be 18 for anybody. But recent law passed changed it too Americans going into canada have to be 21 to drink there and citizens of canada still only have to be 18. This is terrible news for all underage citizens of america who are living relitivly close to the border.
well it doesnt matter anyway you have to be 21 years old if your an american. and since most of us are american on this site i thought i would share with them.
fuck it all i AM LOADED and im 18 and legal is 19 buck that that shit fake id NIGGER fuck yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa just grabbbin some more brews right now pit stop. peace
that law is bunk, youre laws dont follow you into other countries. noone at a canadian bar is going to stop you from drinking for being a 19yo american. careful with the beer here though, ours has alcohol in it.
i drink regular assed beer, molson has the same alcohol as my MGD. america and canada are the same fucking thing, except canada's just a little cooler, more spread out, and have funny accents sometimes. i love canada, but your beer doesn't kick any more ass than ours.
i dont think american beer kicks ass. i dont really dig much american beer at all.. its all about german and czech beer, and i like negra modela. but i live in portland, or and there are a ton of good privately owned breweries here. i didnt like canadas beer but i still think canada is way better and would much rather live there than here.
Passports will supposedly be required for all land and sea border
crossings into the US sometime in 2008 or by June 1, 2009 at the
latest. However, three things may happen between now and then:
The PASS card passport substitute may be unveiled
High-tech driver's licenses may be introduced for border crossing purposes
Teens under 18 may be allowed to continue crossing borders with only a birth certificate, as is currently possible (read more)
A passport land travel rule change date of January, 2008, is probably a
ludicrous fantasy for the Department of Homeland Security, as some kind
of inexpensive border crossing substitute for a $97 passport, like the
PASS card, is not going to happen by then. The DHS has not even begun
to look at ecomomic impacts from the new passport requirements -- the
Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will cost more than $100 million
annually.
Congress will recess in August, 2007, and a conference committee is
slated to meet for a discussion which may delay the PASS card
implementation as insecure RFID technology proposed for use in chips in
the cards is discussed."
The US House of Representatives wants to extend the land crossing
deadline to 2009, but the Department of Homeland Security is trying to
shoot for Jan. 2008. Canada wants to extend everything too. It's a big
mess overall.
If Canadians have to be 21 to drink in the states and not 19 like they do in Canada then Americans should have to be 21 to drink in Canada rather than being able to cross the border and legally drink at 19... shitty deal for us 19 year old Canadians.
and they changed it to 19 years ago becasue they wanted to get the booze away from highschools...but with the semi-resent ciriculum change...making it so we dont have a grade 13...they should change it back to 18
are you saying you have canadian friends that are under 18, but have fake ids that say they are 19-20 year old americans. because if you are, then thats halarious.
or are your friends american with fakes so they can buy alcohol in canada. either way its prety funny
