I've already looked at most of the threads concerning these skis but I'm curious if anyone my size has experience with the lizzies and the live life 2's. I'm 6'0 165. I'm looking at getting some lizzies, bacons or live life 2's. I'm leaning towards the lizzies cause I've got some enemys for all mountain and I want something for just playing around on and jibbing around the mountain. Mostly butters, slow 180's and 3's and a lot of switch riding. Since the lizzies are a little shorter I'm wondering how the live life 2's stack up against them.
i hear that people got some tip dive with the lizzies due to their short length and the extra length on the live life 2s fix that. They supposedly have similar flex and they do have similar dimensions. Id go with live life 2s. bacons are stiffer
I was thinking about the bacons but I've heard that they are heavier and more of an all mountain as opposed to a jib ski. The live life 2's are supposed to have a similar flex to the lizzies but I haven't heard from anyone who has ridden them. The length of the live life 2's and the bacons makes more sense I know but I've also heard people my size who have ridden the lizzies and swear by them.
That's why I thought the elizabeth would be more fun to just play around on, because it's essentially a fat park ski but the shorter length makes me nervous.
The lizzies are a park ski... if you're Eric Pollard... other than that, its just a super soft all mountain huckstick that would be best if you're a flyweight. I dont think the normal person would take them in the park... we arent all eric pollard whos time and time again creating a fatter ski for himself.
One of these days, hes going to create a ski so fat, it will be inherently just a long snowboard...
I am about your size and I rode lizzies for 2 seasons and then moved to surface live lifes and have a pair of live life 2s on order, the lizzies were great but i really needed something longer, if you are riding them all mtn you better be able to stick your shit because if you land a little forward or a little back on the lizzie your going down because they are so soft and short. the live life 2 are supposed to have a similar flex to the lizzie but with just a bit more length and no camber
if what you're looking for isn't a powder ski & all you want to do with this ski is jibbing around the mt, then i recommend you take anthems in consideration.
^ I really don't think anyone has ridden them yet (lv2's). Except for R&D purposes. And I believe only 50 are being made. Better get on it.
I'm 6'3 and have ridden bacons and lizzes. Bacons just seemed clunky to me. Fun ski, but not near as lively as the eliz for buttering, jibbing, quick turning, etc. The only draw back is that they dive in pow if you get forward.. mainly b/c of their length I'd say.
