Hey guys, I've been going to Stowe for the past three years and personally, I love it there. I've stayed most frequently at a small little motel next to that pizza/past restaurant, I forget the name but would recognize it if I saw it. Anyways, last winter I helped my girlfriend learn to ski and she's also into snowshoeing. My question is, are there trails at Stowe for snowshoeing? Also, what is a nice place to stay that she'd like (she's not ritzy but on vacations, she likes to split the price in half so we can stay at a nicer place usually). I've stayed at the Grey Fox too and personally, I thought it wasn't worth the money. Thanks guys! Skiing at Stowe with her this winter will be interesting/fun! haha
There are sooooo so many trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Just go to the mountain info center right before you go up and over the hill to Mansfield. Also, I'd stay in Waterbury. It's so expensive to stay at Stowe in the winter.
Where's Waterbury? Haha, we found this sweet place next to that pizza/pasta place. It's a white house with a motel in the back. 50 dollars a night and it had 2 queen beds and a bunk bed! Plus DVD and tv and a mini fridge haha. Thanks for the info!
HAH Waterbury, you'll get an STD by just touching a public door knob. There's a Best Western on Blush Hill Rd in Waterbury. Its about 15 ish minutes from the hill.
Hey, thanks for the tip on the best wester. It's just that we're splitting the cost and it's our vacation, so we want to try a nice place (plus in the middle of winter, I woudln't mind a pool haha). The Stowe website doesn't have to many great pictures to give you an idea of the places around it.
Its in the more classy part of Waterbury (Waterbury Center) Its close to Ben & Jerry's factory, a huge Shaws, Thatcher Brook Primary school which has some really good urban. 20 minutes to Montpelier, 45 to Burlington.
