Now it's my turn to talk about MY school..

Social Sciences/History: bi-weekly intelligent political discussion and/or debate.

Science: 'Students will not only be asked to pay attention to their cultural environment: they will develop an awareness of their natural environment. Students will participate in a number of projects including hiking trips, sailing, tracking, canoeing, orienteering, and other naturalist related activities to develop a sense of their environment and the natural forces that affect them over time.'

Math: 'Although not a subject formally set aside for study, mathematics is recognized as an integral part of life's daily activities.'


Everything else is outdoors stuff, philosphy, music, theatre, writing, reading, and talking.

Once a month you meet with the two guys who teach this, who are awesome, and decide if you have pass or failed. It's impossible to fail at Walden, there are only two graded assignments a year. One is the whole group builds a hut and sleeps in it, and the other is you have to publish writing.

Boo yah.

My school starts at 7:40, but the bus comes for me at 6:15, making me get up at like 5 cause I'm braindead in the morning and have to shower and find evrything I need. Then I have to sit through hours of teachers who just talk and talk without making any sense at all. And then we get out at 2:30.

Damn South Dakota!! Go to hell! Here in our 'blue ribbon' overachieving school of Hershey High we have to be in homeroom by 7:40, half hour for lunch, and out at 2:30. And to top it all off, we have 10 days for christmas vacation, 4 days (including weekend) for easter, and we have 5 extra days than the required amount. Damn I wish I went to a dumb school.
My best friend just moved to Oregon and is going to a Catholic school where she starts at 9 and ends at 2:15 and has an hour and a half for lunch.

my school sucks ass. I get up at 6, drive to school with my brother (hooray for no bus), first bell at 7:30. Half an hour for lunch either at 12 or 12:30. School ends at 2:50. then I have soccer untill at least 4:30, sometimes later. then I have tons of fucking homework, espically around finals and midtrem. FUCK SCHOOL

i get up at 8:40, get to school for 9:00, and get out at 3:10. i will have five classes out of a possible eight, which means im gonna have 3 spares this year. the most classes i'll have in a day will be 4 out of 6, and my only hard course is physics...im gonna take an easy math, world issues, excercise science, and canadian families and the individual. is that easy enough or what?
