after growing up 5 minutes from my mountain and getting $15 season passes since i was 6, i kinda feel really bad for everyone who has to drive and pay for that shit
you're all so lucky. 50 minutes will get me to a dry slope, an hour to two hours will get me to a sno!zone.
Real snow is either up in Scotland (where it's windy and not as pleasant) which is a good 4 - 5 hours away; or in France, which is 2 hours to the airport, 2 hours waiting, 2 hours on the plane, 3 hour transfer = 9 hours!
10 minutes in good weather. 15-20 if it's sketchy out as it's a rural road that noone ever takes and is rarely plowed and maintained during snowstorms.
It's just some shitty hill though, not a mountain.
durring the winter we head up to our cabin in the UP on friday night, which depending on weather can take 3 1/2 hours to 5 1/2 hours, but then on saturday worning I can ski off of my back porch on to the mountain, beat that.
