Why is it that snowdboard movies always seem way more creative than ski movies. is it the people who are in them, the guys behind the camera, or the overall attitude. Is it possible that skiers just dont have the genes that make a snowboarder act so goofy when put in front of a camera?
Snowboarding movies are a lot more mainstream. More finances, more experienced directors, etc. Eric Iberg is a snowboarding director, I believe, which may explain why Idea was so good [in some peoples' opinions].
problee just that... so serious.
I think youre going to start to see the two sports go in complete opposite directions. snowboarding has had its super serious days and super corporate ideals, and not that there still isnt that there, but there are alot of cats doing there own things now. Skiers just need to chill out and let it happen you know?
There are some amazing ski movies and ski people out there, and when people stop posting threads like this, you will know when the change has happend.
ive seen picture this and im sure it will be one of the best this year and it doesnt look that relaxed at all. every shot has a cable camera set up and some of their shots only get a couple of hits. i might be over exagerating a bit but i dont see skiing being much more serious. there just is more creativity shown in snowboarding and as skiing's finance increase im sure we will see the same with our creativity. not sure how that works though,.
yeah its gay how serious skiing movies are, it kinda pisses me off, and its wierd cause i see way more goofy non serious skiers than snowboarders, most the good snowboarders i see are all serious and try to be soooo fucking gangster.
True, but you missed the point though.
having deep pockets to fund a movie and do shit like that is great.
I was talking about the vibe. skiing is in serious we have something to prove mode right now. Its fine... for real. But its not overly creative as a mind state. More and more though, fun stuff is poping up. So be stoked on the future and go smile. Word... fiddle faddle!
