because i don't know shit. Just started riding and have been having tons of fun. Thinking about buying a barley used Honda xr 200 at a good price, has a 4-stroke, seems easy to ride on trails which is where I’ll probably do most of my riding. But there is a motocross place not far away that I want to ride, will I have enough power and will I get worked over on jumps with the not so great suspension this thing has?

how big are you? cuz if your not so big, the honda would be fine for most anything you'd throw at it. but if your pushing 200 lbs, i'd go with something different...

i had a xr100 back in the day and my dad had a cr250
a xr 200 will have some power, but not nearly enough to do anything on a moto x track.
and plus its not built for jumping, so if you do try n take it out there the shocks will bottom out on the first jump.
but yes if your into trail riding then xr's are perfect.
and they have plenty of power for trail riding.
hope that helped

for trail the lack of power is more than made up for by the lower weight. A big bike in the woods isent that fun.
