Longboard help

i want to get into longboarding buy i have no idea what kind of board to get...any tips? dont want to spend that much but from what iv seen ill go up to like 175. also what are some good sites to buy from?

i was in your boat about a month ago, and i've already learned so much. it all depends on what kind of riding you depend on doing. downhill? cruising? carving? dancing? there are different board for each kind, and then there are also more versatile ones for everything. i have a sector9 right now, which is ok, it's a good board to start out on. i got it for $160. look around some of these sites:

alot of people hate on it cuz its so mainstream i guess, but sector 9 is hot.
i have a 34" cosmic series for bombing hills with upgraded wheels. got it off the site for like 120
i also have a 4.5 or so board which is real fat and i use for dancing. the deck, grip tape, and hardware cost me only $75. then i just took trucks of my old board with the wheels and put'em on there.

get a cracked skulls scimitar. 154 bucks complete. randall 180 trucks, good bearings and gumballs. badass board to learn on def, reccomnenenended.

yea i mostly will be crusing down kinda steep not so steep hills...my neighborhood is pretty big and its a huge circle and like it goes downhill for about half a mile so

for a good board to start would the sector 9 goddess be a good one or the roundhouse? would those be good ones? can some one give me good boards to get for a first time? like specific boards

sector nines are good quality, but a little pricey...you can just customize a board on like getboards.com and get like a dregs or something(thats what i ride) and their nice, but look around online or surfshops

sector 9's blow man seriously they are good if youve never stepped on a board before but anything after 3 months of experience- s9's aint gonna cut it.
