once you get them they will take time to heal. i garuntee if you land bad enough you will get shin splints in any boot. learn how to land properlly on a jump brosef. as long as you dont land backseat you should be fine in theory.
also walk around on your heals as much as you can and stretch you lower body frequently.

Once you have them it is hard to get rid of them, try booster straps.

make sure your boots are super snug over your ankles/shins. BOOSTER STRAPS! and yea, don't land backseat.
