Dalbello Il Moro

For all those looking for info on the Il Moros i just went to my shop yesterday and picked up a pair in size 28.5 for $520 plus tax. As for softness I had a SPK Kaos boot on one foot and Il Moro on the other and the SPK was just a little softer. Take in mind that the Il Moro has two component sets for either stiff or medium flex. I was planning on getting SPKs when i went to buy boots but then I saw the Il Moros and tried them on and the snowboard ratchet at the top is great. Say goodbye to shin bang caused by the cuff of the boot not being tight to ur shin. I got home and clicked into my T-Halls and started doin nose presses and stuff and they are great. Really comfortable and soft on the medium flex set. Havent switched out parts to try stiff flex but these boots are great and I would recommend them to anyone especially those looking at the SPK Pro model because its in the same price range.

if the ll moro is anything like the kryptons its the exact opposite fit of the SPKs

the boot is skinnier than the spk but softness and flex the il moro is about the same

i tried on a pair of il moros today and they were sick. i really liked the buckle system. the second buckle pulls and forces your heel into the heel pocket really tightly. your foot cant move at all which makes the boot feel really light and responsive. compared to the krypton the il moro's flex was a lot smoother. the krypton's flex was abrupt and i can tell my shins wouldnt appreciate that. the il moros felt light and great on my foot. the top buckle strap thing is dank too. it is easy to use and comfortable. i also really liked the id liner.

exactly... did you get your liner molded? they didnt have the machine set up yet so i have to go back to get the liner molded which will make it even more comfortable

i was just trying them on so sadly i didn't buy them. i already have boots...i just wanted to see how the il moros/krypton models fit my foot. i thought they were for really narrow feet but they seemed to fit me well. i am defintely considering them for my next boots though. but for now i have some garmont adrenalins. and i really like the adrenalins. they are extremely light as they are a backcountry boot for hiking yet they are also aimed at inbounds use. they have a pretty soft flex which i like as well. they are really comfortable too. last year i had a few pressure point problems but i think they're more broken in now. plus, im trying a different technique with the booster strap which prevents my shins from going too far forward into the shell. so we'll see.....il moros felt sweet though. i cant get enough of that middle buckle that holds my heel back!

yo, would this be a good choice for somthing that is soft enough for the park, but stiff enought to shred the groomers and bigger pow lines?

to mb. i would say yes to that. With the medium flex tongue they are plenty soft for park and good on groomers but then when you want to go rip pow lines you could change to the stiff tongue which stiffens the boot up a lot.

I got those today! Before you heat-mold them, they are UNCOMFORTABLY. Nothing less, nothing more. They feel like shit or something. After you heat-mold'em, they are totally SICK! They fit so nice, of course. Because they are fit exactly to your foot. Going to ride them on saturday, I'm so stoked!

i have a pal in NZ who has had them for a while. now on his, like with old roller blades, the ratchet is getting tired due to the friction and relentless stress. he is having issues where the ratchet slips a couple of notches, causing him to hav an undone boot. he is not happy.

ok. ive been riding mine for a while now.

first,only one set of tongues, 2 sets of stiffener blocks (they lock the flex out). these guys use a slightly softer lower plastic, and are a tad softer/damper than reg. crosses/rampages. the deal with the snowboard buckles up top is this: since your foot is so securely held by the middle strap, you can ride these boots with the uppers undone, allowing for a much softer flex. the rachet system prevents the loose buckles from coming unhooked. when you want a snugger fit around the cuff, and a stiffer flex, slap the puppy a few times through your pants, and bam! race boot!

and also, the liner is the real highlight of this boot. once its heated and your fitted in the boots well, they are amazingly comfortable. i still have a few kwirks to iron out, but still an amazing boot. i had crosses last season, and was not impressed. these guys are amazing.

I love, but I'm worried about the durability of the buckle, as someone pointed out earlier. I like my boots to last a while, especially if I'm to drop $600 on them.

I've ridden them for three days now, and I'm so satisfied! They're sick boots. I love'em.

But. When I've ridden them for a while, they get a little bit big to me. I tighthen it, but they are still a little big. Or, the upper buckle is not tight enough. Does it help to heat-mold them again and don't tighten it very much to make them tighter on my foot?

i have ridden mine one day and absolutley loved them... my feet were sore cuz of being the first day back in boots but they were wicked comfortable and i loved the flex on them... when i would butter i couldnt even feel them on my feet it was so nice the flex felt so natural

In talking to a bootfitter recently, I was told you really don't need a footbed for these unless you have some serious foot deformities. The liner itself will serve as a good footbed after it is molder to your feet.

everyone should have footbeds, unless you have true flat feet. Even in the id liner, you are sopposed to run a foot bed in it.

Yeah, Intuition doesn't recommend them because the liner molds like a footbed in and of itself.
But I have some bad pronation and my experience has been that if I don't get some support under there, then my inside ankle bone hits the inside of the shell and makes for a bad time.  What does everyone say is te best footbed to have though is the issue...superfeet?  Aren't they made unweighted and supposed to be very nice?

i got these off warrenty when the shells on my krypton pro's cracked. I only have 4 days on them so far but i like them for the most part, im running the stiff tongues in them and thats the only thing ive modded, im not the biggest fan of the new buckle though, i prefered my old booster straps, the boots would have been super legit if the but  huge elastic strap where the buckle is, like a 3 inch tall booster strap, thats just my opinion though

would you recommend buying these one shell size smaller than what your foot sizes at because of the id liner?

Shell fit and get the size that is the proper shell size for your foot, you can alway re-bake the liners if need be, but if the shell isn't sized right, that'll be a lot harder to fix.
