so over the summer i just broke my second pair of s912 ti in the exact way. the plastic around the screws cracked so the heelpeice is coming up. so now i need 3 pairs of bindings for my old and new skis. so should i invest the $$ into the salomon sth 16 or 12... worth it, or will rossi scratch 120 ti be strong durable enough?? soo sick of broken bindings. but not too sure on a heavy tank bindin like the fks...

rossi has the same problem. My buddy had the PX last year, toe piece broke. I heard the STH is pretty much bomb proof. If you want really something super durable, Salomon 999 drivers are BADASS.

i've had the same problems with the heelpiece on the 912, so i got 914's for my bacons and 916's for my gotamas. i have yet to hear anything bad about the sth.

if i go sth i should go sth 16 over 12 correct?? i really dont need a high din i just need a binding that wont break. so i need new bindings for my urban, park, and pow skis. im thinking the sth on the park, maybe rossi scratch 120 ti on pow, and something cheap on the urbans?? im just so pissed off about bindings.

so bother wit the sth 12 or just go sth 16. how heavy are the sth 16s compared to rossi scratch ti 120s?

salomon actually has warrenties on their bindings, better look into that first, see if you can get some free new ones.

Are you refering to my toe piece? It was actually my heel that exploded and rendered it useless until replacement parts arrived.

they don't make 912s anymore, they'll send you Z12s most likely.

Get some STH 12s... They should have fixed the problem. They are durable while lighter.

Get the looks or rossi they're so solid, i've really never had a problem, maybe a bent break here and there but most of the time you can piece em back together and they only cost like 10 or 15 bucks if you gotta replace em, i have had p10s p12s axail120s PX12s and FKS 185s and my brother has had a few different pair of salomons mine out last evey pair hes had look and rossi are the way to go and i'll never buy anything else

I've heard of rip outs and brake issues with both Rossi/Look and Salomon. To be honest, I've not heard much from 4FRNT's, but that may just be because they are rarer.

the sth 12 and sth16 have the racing heel plate, which is metal, not plastic like the s912/914. I just got some sth12 and they seem alot more solid. Someone is selling sth16 for like 230 which is a killer deal.

why do you fools keep thinking that the sth 16 is durable, that thing has more plastic then any other 15+ din binding out there. It is not the same as a 916's, Believe me a px12 two piece will be stronger then it. and that salomon z-series binding is going to break too.

I personally believe there is a much greater chance of breaking a px12 over a sth16 though I do concur it's not as burly as a 916. However I have seen lots of broken toe wings on the px series as well as alot of cracks in the base plate of the heel piece.

regarding your comment about the fks being heavy, there was a thread a while ago that compared weights, and the fks weighs about 5 grams more than the salomon, or about the weight of five paperclips... so if weight is the only thing keeping you from getting the fks, you may want to reconsider

no please don't. if u want something bombproof buy some rossignol. ive been riding the same rossi binding since 4 years, did everything to them and they are still good. u just have to clean and grease them every year and youre set.

do you have to send the whole binding or just the broken piece?
cause if its the whole thing, im pretty sure it costs more money to ship the bindings to salomon and back than it does just to buy new plastic pieces.

(i think i understand what you said.)
the plastic that covers the guide rail is broken?
totally free to fix bud.

nah^ the bindings fucked as in the heelpeice is pretty much shattering the screws ripped through the plastic and METAL on the binding and the binding is only hanging on. which i cant just fix because the metal in the heelpeice is stripped. need new heelpeices. and the other binding is starting to do the exact same thing. give it a few more hits and its gone.

the only thing that broke on all of my solomon bindings were teh brakes, which didn't fall completely out, and the risers break a lot, but are an easy fix that you can do with a screwdriver.
