Look Alpine Touring Binding

Hey, I found these rather cheap alpine touring bindings (an oxymoron).

those are naxo nx21's with a different graphic on them. lots of info out there. pretty good binbings, but have some durability issues if you are dropping cliffs and such, or are generally hard on gear.

The old naxo nx01 had durability issues. Everybody blew out there toepieces. There's never been anything wrong with the nx21's.

i would get dynafits or fritchi's before i got those.
iv'e never used naxo's but one of my best friends tours a lot and he is firmly against them.

to the above, i, and most folks that i know repeately broke both the toes and heels on the current nx21's.

i mean im only 130 lb, 5'7, and when I dropped cliffs with my old shitty salomon jr bindings i usually never popped out, so I think I should be pretty good.  Thanks for the help by the way.

well this is about 200 dollars less so i think this is the best buy for the money. Besides, I only ski about 15 times a year...

I used my NX21's well over 30 days last year and have nothing but good things to say about them.  The only problems you'll find are the same ones you'll find on most other AT bindings:  they're not as stiff as alpine bindings and you're really high off the ski (Dynafit being the exception).  I skied them on everything from waist deep powder to icy runs off the tram at Big Sky with absolutely no issues, and only one ejection that would have happened on any other binding given the circumstances.  And $300 is a really good deal!

For the binding to have rails that don't flex they have to make it fairly high, so that's one of the major drawbacks of the system.  However, you should be willing to comprimise a bit for what you get in return:  access to anything you want to skin to.

naxo has a problem with their hinges breaking repeatedly. specifically the bolt that holds the whole thing together.
i think of all the touring bindings naxo are the worst.
also not to mention naxos are HUGE. compared to outer touring bindings.
