MARKER jester and duke bindings?

ya marker does suck go with look or rossi cause there the same or salomon or somthin bu not marker they break easy and they suck

haha, tell me about it.  the duke and jester are legit bindings, marker finally got their shit together and made a good binding.  If you have the money they are def worth it, both are really sick

Both bindings have potential for sure. the duke could be the burliest At binding out there. we will see. As for the Jester, one thing is for sure it has a lot of plastic for a 16 din binding. Not to sure about how the tow will release I was looking at it, and it does not rotate, so the release will be similar to older markers I am thinking.  The heel piece is moving in the right direction but that is only because it is a direct copy of Look/Rossi.  However it is light, and if it can hold up the same as a p-18 then it could be great. For the moment though I would recomend saving a few $100 and going with whatever it is you trust. give it a season to see how it performs.

the big downfall (aside from the toe release and abundance of plastic) is it is wicked expensive for either. $300+ on sale for the jester, and more than $400 for the duke (which might not be so bad conisdering it is AT and seems burly as shit).

With a cost like that, there are other options out there that seem to work. Yet, they seem to be the best binding marker has put out thus far.

well i work in a shop so i get pro form prices so the price doesnt really matter... i just got this years AR6 and just kickin the idea of getting on of them i have rossi and salomon on my other skis so i just was thinkin i should try something new and i agree markers do suck but i a lil curious about their new line it looks like they are try to step their game up.

i think everything about the duke/jester is perfect, and it will work REALLY well

the only issue i see is weight - apparently they are quite heavy bindings

when you say heavy, do you mean extremely light? obviously you havent held them. but they seem pretty legit and people that have been on them say theyve held up real well. im giving them a try so we will see.

that was more referring to the duke..but being an AT binding its probably comparable to a naxo or fritchi anyway...i guess its the price to pay for durability..

stick with the scratch, you know it works well, and it is not going to cost your $400.

Not really

Duke = 5.5 pounds
Rossi scratch 140= 5.3 pounds


Not that heavy for such a burly at binding.

marker completely reworked its line. they're nothing like the old bindings so i would like to give them a try before buying.

I have always hated marker bindings but seeing how the jester and duke have a completely new design I'm not going to make any conclusions yet...id say give them a chance they might actually be pretty sweet!!

i just bought a pair of jesters for my seths, they are completely different than older marker bindings and are crazy light. I think they will be pretty sick. The only thing that worries me durrability because of the amount of plastic but im asuming marker used some strong stuff. I also will barely be skiing any park with theses since i still have my ar6s so i think they should hold up fine. Ill give a better review in november

i've skied the dukes, but not the jesters. the binding skis better than any look/rossi binding i've skied, and i ride look jibs or fks' on all my skis. the only thing that scares me away from the marker bindings is the price, basically. if thats not an issue, go for it.

The duke has to be the most over hyped binding ever released. Don't get me wrong, I've played around with it and it does seem solid and for sure it's going to ski nice, but calm down people, it's just a binding. Buy it and ski it if you like it.

And the Jester, I'm not so sure. There's a lot of plastic in there so I wouldn't buy it for the next year or two if I was buying new bindings, just to guage some feedback on them. Aparently there's zero ramp on them for improved switch handling. And interesting idea. Skiing forwards on them might be a bit weird compared to normal though. My shop should be getting them in any day, or even have them already (I've been off work sick for a while), I should have a proper look at them.

ive played with them jesters in my shop a bit, and im pretty stoked on them, debating riding a pair this year myself. there is a lot of plastic, but it does seem to be a really heavy duty composite instead of the crappy plastics used in older marker bindings. if they made a metal housing, i wouldnt second guess getting them

I'll ride Diamir Freeride Plus until the end, but Marker really stepped up this year and released a solid binding.
