07/08 Invader question...

So I am not sure if it is too early in the year to ask the question yet, but does the carbon ollie band actually make a difference, or is it just a marketting gimick? Ideally I would like to hear from people who have actually ridden the skis, considering my guess is as good as anyone elses who hasn't skied them.
I am really looking for a noodle to just play around on. I am 6'1" 165lb and currently ride the '07 Rossi Scratch FS wrs in a 181 for park. SO wanting something that will be super easy to butter around on and have some fun with, I am wondering if the carbon ollieband makes the ski a lot stiffer, if it just helps with pop, or if it simply does nothing...

I personally have not tried it, but common it looks like the biggest gimic in history. If it is not that is awesome, but I seriously doubt it is anything more then an extra thing to add into their commercials.

Assuming that the ollie band is in the correct place, and on the right side of the ski, it really does improve snap/pop of the ski.
Carbon is not a gimmick.
It has a very specific flex to it, and if used correctly can greatly improve stiffness/pop in any component.
If used incorrectly (ie. placed on the srong side of the ski) it's benifits are limted. Some other brands that use the ollie band actually use it in the improper way, therefore, it becomes useless.
However, i am not sure on how the line band is laced and placed, so cannot answer you question directly; but carbon is NOT a gimmick

i wouldnt doubt it. its pretty much like the butter zones, they invented a cool name for very soft skis and people think that its better then just a soft ski cause its got the "butter zones" i do believe it will just make the ski stiffer, which might give it a little more pop.

You're kinda a big guy, maybe the anthems would be a better choice? They're the same as the invader + 10 underfoot, same construction/technology. Just a bit stiffer.

actually the core is milled a bit thinner at the "butter zone" making a hinge point, which is a lot differnt than just having soft woods.

they make it seem like they are the only ones to do that. They also say that they make the only symmetrical park skis.

i really dont know about it on the invader but i have had line skis in the past with the ollie band and it was sick, you can deff feel the extra pop when you preload it alittle
I would deff go for them it really makes it easier to ollie up one to rails and jib shit and gives you that extra little bit off big hits

i have em and i think that the butter zones make them great for butters and still leave the ski stiff enough for pretty good pop

that doesn't have anything to do with the lame ass carbon ollie band. Many companies have butter zones and don't advertise them like Line.
