Anyone know of a cheap place within a 30 minute commute from mt baker?

30 minutes would put you at the base of the forest service road in the winter. Seriously, closest town is Glacier, and accommodations are 'cheap' yet expensive, since they know they can charge up the ass. I'd just stay in Bellingham, it would be cheaper even with gas.

Anywhere? Hah if you want a real cheap place just go to the dirty/sketchy hotels near Sehome, find a friend, or just work at Baker and get Employee housing.

But my guess is that you watched Idea, never have been to Bellingham/Baker, and just felt like going for some reason?

Baker sucks, huge lines, no powder, infact it has ice during the winter, what the fuck i mean on the west, and now lift tickets are $90 def not worth going to, Whistler has the real snow.

So the following is an honest to god statement: I have skied mt. baker on several occasions in the last 4 years. I have never skied powder there. It has all been icy, rainy, sun crusted, or freezing rain, I have never been snowed on at mt. baker. nor have I skied fresh snow. And I live here. Also there is no where to stay at mt. baker. Places to stay at whistler and Crystal though. They get better snow too, the top of baker is only like 3500 feet to. that is lower then pretty much any place in Colorado.
And when it does snow do you have any idea what that snow is like? If you have not skied the PNW before you will not consider it to be powder. It is wet and heavy. It is called cascade concrete for a reason, because the closest thing to it is wet cement. Do you want to ski wet cement that only comes a few times a year?

Hahahaha well, some of the above said is true, but to a certain extent. To be honest, we usually get one amazing week, and after that its cement/rain.
