prefectly said, i prefer fernie for the better snow although kicking horse has some pretty gnarly terrain and they had a farley good snow year last year
the horse....so gnar...except their lift system is shit....they needed to build a mid station for the gondola, as you have to ski all this flat shit at the bottom (which goes for miles) to get to the gondola
I skied there a couple of years ago during the only big strom of the year, it snowed 2ft, there was 3 in places. No crowds for 4 days and it hardly got tracked.
the horse has snow for weeks if you know were to look for it. everything you can view from the chair or from the chair or gondola is gone pretty quick, but ive found that all of the cliffs are still useable for well after a big snowfall. i would definitely say the horse is better then fernie for terrain, the gondola system at kicking horse is fucking brutal if you do end up there on a busy day, and the night life in golden is shit compared to fernie. but if you can hit kicking horse on a mid week pow day, your heli skiing for the price of a lift ticket.
