Alright, this year i transfered into UW stout from my local tech school, and they have this deal with www.ruckus.com where using our school ID we can download legal, free music. anyone know about ruckus? i don't want to DL a bunch of stuff that won't let me burn to disk / work with my iPod / etc.
yea I use Ruckus a ton, it's awesome. Anyone with a university email address can use it I'm pretty sure. When you download the stuff, it's DRM-protected, so you can't put it on your iPod, but you can use programs like Tunebite to convert the files to just being MP3s, which you can do anything you want with.
most schools have some sort of file sharing program. my brother goes to purdue universty in indiana and they have terabytes of information on an internal network that can only be accessed by students and people in the area who know about it. of course it is a uber geek technology and applied science school
i just installed it and it's pretty dope, they dowenload really quick and have a good selection. I was able to find a lot of stuff i couldn't with torrents
Download a program called FairUse4wm. It will take away the DRM and you can use itunes to convert to mp3 without the DRM. You might need windows media player 10 but Im not sure.
