Lets talk coping

Allright so im presently in the process of building myself a new battel ship box for my back yard setup, and im stuck in a construction crossroads. I can either build the box without coping, give my edges a little bit of a break for the ushuall wear and tear, or i could make a super legit box complete with coping.
So heres what iv seen/used befor
steel piping- basicly iv used it on large all steel boxs befor for a mountian, im looking for info on how to make it work for a wood, backyard setup
argle iron- iv seen some of you guys using it on your boxs in the post your set-up thread, what guage/ thickness of the angle iron did you use? How well does it work?

scratch that, problem solved, iv relaized im too poor to aford any kind of coping for my box alltogether.

for backyard stuff its almost better to not have coping. i mean it saves alot of $ and you dount really need it specially since its not getting a ton of hits like a mountains jib would

steel coping and angle iron are a good choice! Snoqualmie uses angle iron on all of their boxes but other mountains use steel coping. So its mostly up to you.

you dont really need it unless a ton of people are going to be hitting it. if its just you and friends the box isnt going to fall apart from lack of coping
