not really everything is a banger. Andreas Wiigs part was a banger i think it only had like three tricks in it. But some are the parts are regular parts like Jeremy Jones, Eero Etlala, Aaron Bittner and some more. All in all it is way ahead of its time.
Thats an entertaining movie right there. QUALITY over QUANTITY.
Pushing the cinematography side of things to a new level. To sum it up: A tight roster of very progressive snow riders filmed in hi-def with dolly / boom / helicopter & or remote cable cam shots throughout the ENTIRE movie.
Minuses: very urban heavy, lots of Extreme wide angle, and some short short rider parts.
Plusses: non-stop perspectives of action that have not really been used before in snowsport movies, smooth flow, GREAT LIGHTING: I.E. night time powder slashes, colored-gel lit nightpipe, etc., and not to mention some very creative types of "jibbing" and absolute bangers. Soundtrack + a great vibe.
Is this the future of videos? Probably in many ways- digital is taking over, and "in motion" shooting perspectives is bringing this stuff to another level. But, I think it can be limiting in the way that it involves a lot of setup to shoot. Everything has to be calculated to get those shots, and that may take away from some of the rawness and spontaneity in snowboard/ski filming. It also can limit most shooting to a more urban location for obvious reasons, and probably restricts the amount of actual shots you can get in a season (both seemed apparent in the movie). Either way, IMPRESSIVE effort by MDP. Watch this movie!
awsome movie. kind of bummed about shawn white being in it, go ahead and hate on me. and there was no scotty arnold...WTF??? and in were people too jon kooley didn't have closing. That pissed me off even though I don't snowboard.
While the quality of each of the shots in picture this is unprecedented and every shot is a banger, i enjoyed Follow Me Around as an overall movie better. in my opinion, picture this is 2nd best.
I'm watching We're People Too, and it's amazing. I reckon we get everyone on NS to chuck in $2 to persuade these mack daaaawg people to make a ski movie next year
i ordered it to my dorm a week ago and it came on saturday but the mailroom was closed when i got the notice and it was closed sunday and labor day. but at 245 today i will get it and i can't wait. this is torture
Serioulsy man, if almost every member on NS agreed to put a 2$ to persuade MDP to make a ski movie next year, maybe the would. hahaha it would be like one of the epicest moments of the ski film industry ever!
i find it impossible to believe that mack dawg "c team" (people) put out a better movie than the real MDP. Since the neoproto buy-out they've been riding the coat tails of some of the worlds best filmers, convincing themselves that their as dope and sharing the fame.... I am sure picture this is nothing short of one of the best films ever dropped...
