thanks for the invite and help nomen. i'm switching to macs for my photo biz. i like the size and price of the macbook, but i'm thinking a pro might be better suited for my needs. i'll be running cs3, a light version of final cut, and probably logic or protools (music stuff). how would a regular macbook, with like 1.83 Ghz, 1g, 60g run that stuff? also, who's got the best deals online? amazon? thanks for the help.
Personally i like the larger size of the pro for editing, I am running CS3 on mine and it runs excellent, I have heard it is runable on a regular macbook but you do notice some slowdown.
id go with a pro. I cant stand the macbook keyboard, i couldnt be happier with my 17in macbook pro. actually, i could be. going in tomorrow for another gig of memory. ahah.
I have a pro session drummer friend who runs logic on his macbook, swears by his setup. so i guess i can recommend it on his behalf.
but i think the extra screen size is gonna be a big bonus for you, (bar size is the screen better on the pro? it's non-semigloss like the regular macbook rite?)
yea pro woul be the best with atleast 2gb ram man....well i mean you could run macbook with an external HD, upgrade the ram and ull have to upgrade the combo drive to a superdrive since you will prolly be putting pics on DVD....
i like my pro...just got it a week ago and i have no regrets...the extra 800 is worth it..
