Grass/Dirt skiing

Does anyone else have fun experiencing bare dirt spots towards the springtime at their home hill. And/or just random thaws during the middle of the year due to warm temps. They're so fun to gap and ski across. Makes me feel like such a rebel.

This reminds me of a picture in some ski magazine a long time ago where there was a dude getting pulled behind a car on wet grass. Or the "best use of your roommates skis" picture in SBC Skier.

last fall, maybe mid september, we got a couple inches of snow, and i hiked up to where they have the half pipe carved out of the ground, and proceeded to ski over WAY more grass and dirt patches than snow. there were huge tufts of grass stuck in my bindings when i was done. sparks were shooting off rocks and shit. it was hilarious and fun.

doesnt really happen at my mountain...or if theres ia small patch here and there, its just all rocks.

In ny we do the opposite, we ski on grass and look for snow.

haha same here skiing in ohio is exactlty that

but it gets warm so fast at the end of the season we get mini rivers you can water ski

Yeah haha at the end of the season at winter park there is a nice little water gap that you can ollie 180 etc... And in years past at A-Basin there has been a little stream you can ollie, ride through, etc...

Oh yeah, and a lake...
