Moving to seattle, ski questions

So I just accepted a job in Seattle and I'll be moving out there soon. I know very little about the skiing there, but it sounds like the mountains around are Snoqualmie, Stevens Pass and Baker right?
and I was thinking about picking up some all mountain/pow skis to go with my park / groomers karams. What skis do you guys ride who live in the area, and what would you recommend for an expert east coast skier with virtually no real pow experience? I'm 6'0" 170 lbs btw.

you already have karmas, get something fat, i wouldn't go under 100 waist. also on that list for places to ski is crystal, but you'll shit yourself when you see the pass prices there.

i ride AK enemys for my everyday ski at Baker.
i'd recommend them, cuz they bust through everything, so i'd go with those, or some seths.
seths would probably do you better at snoqualballs.

doesn't matter I will still sell great skis.
And shut up about crystal has nice snow shit. come to Alpental and learn how to fucking ski. And no more baker brags. And Crystal is just like an hour to an hour and a half closer to where most people on here live then baker. and at baker you don't have to deal with the lines or pricks. shit I just baker bragged. Well no more this are has gotten to popular as it is. we got heavy wet snow from now on, you got that? But fuck the crystal mind set.

Yeah, I was actually debating between those 2, and I'm leaning a bit more towards AK enemies. Everyone seems to have great things to say about them.

None of that really made a lot of sense.
Baker and Crystal are both equally good mountains, Crystal is just more crowded and generally speaking a more yuppee crowd (only on the weekends). During the week its fantastic. Baker is only slightly further from Seattle, depending on where you live. The whole snoqualmie pass area (alpental included) is so low, the snow can be crap, but its freaking close (~45 minutes) and very cheap.

I still haven't had a good day at baker...hopefully this year. But xtal has some sick ass terrain and bc, if it wasn't too expensive/had a park, i would have stayed going there. ( i went when i was 12)

No its not, Snoqualime is 45 min, Stevens 1:15, Crystal like 1:30-2 and Baker a solid 3:30 from downtown.

It takes an 1:30-2:00 from the down town ferry dock to the mountain.

i'll trade 2 servings of Ling Ling's for a pot brownie. i'll even cook them for you.
speaking of Ling Lings and pot, anyone every try to delicately open a potsticker and throw some tweed inside? WeedLings would be bomb.

I split my skiing between crystal and alpental for the most part.
White pass is a good place to try at least once, very local feel to it, but pretty far away.
Baker is amazing but a long drive from seattle and there isn't really any lodging close to it.
Mission Ridge is a great place to ski in the sun as they seem to get more of it than most WA ski areas, nice terrain as well. Thats 3 hours or so away but cheap lodging can be found in wenachee.
Stevans, is meh. Nice place, but i prefer crystal.

One day I'll ski Alpental. My dad skiied there as a kid, and says it's good, steep terrain. Maybe I'll hit it up this season.
All times are Eastern (-5)
