and also, i didn realize it was 500 of each ski, i thought it was 500 on sale in total. this makes more sense. if it was 500 total i bet they wouldve all been sold out by now
good for bluehouse seriously. Sure they overloaded the server but it just shows a shitload of people had interest in them... at 230 in the morning. I wonder what kind of traffic they'll be getting in the afternoon. THis is a limited sale right? how many skis?
This is they way to do it and they have been so transparent through out this whole process. I mean you can literally call up their cell phones.
There are bound to be problems with the skis. There always is. So this is basically like a massive sponsorship to 500 people. Because the people who bought these skis know what is going on in the industry and (hopefully) will ride the piss out of these skis.
We are experience some problems with our shipping API to Canada. If you run into problems in Google Checkout, change the "ship to" address to 875 Arrowhead Lane #32, Salt Lake City, Utah 84107 (That's our address). If you do that, you won't be charged shipping but you will be charged a tax. We'll contact you directly after the sale to settle up the shipping charges since the tax will be less than the total shipping bill.
no, i don't think so... if anything, they're breaking even. it costs a lot to make skis, and materials are expensive. bamboo and high quality carbon = expensive as balls. it's just a marketing stategy to get their skis out there, and prove themselves for next year so people will buy 'em at retail, so THEN bluehouse can make some cash monies.
yea, they DID need a good marketing strategy, becuase they retail for 650 for the cheaper pair of skis. not 400. maybe next year though, they'll be cheaper. who knows. i like what surface did, too, very similar with the watchlifes. both were good approaches, because it sucked me into buying watchlifes and MR's.
I would have to say they are loosing money on this whole deal. You have to look at the loss as an advertising budget though because if these skis hold up they could build a decent buyer base. But if you want to make money don't make twin tip skis.
