i don't really like them out of the park. they're essentially the exact same thing as the invader, just a bit wider. so they'll float a little better than the invader, but they're by no means an all mountain performer.
this is an interesting question, i think anyway.
to my understanding the invader was based off of the elizzibeth and the anthem was based off of the invader.
with that being said they should be a fun pow ski right? like more of a playful jibb pow ski i would think. def not a charger or anything.. i really dont know, good question.
a bunch of the i hate ny kids were using them for bc cliffs in snow gods, but i don't think many people can give you an honest answer because well, no one has them, they're 93 underfoot which is pleanty big enough to handle powder but you're gunna have to lean back so you're tips don't dive
Willy was skiing last years Anthems in a bit of powder with me at Vail last season. They seemed like they were working out pretty well for him, definitely floatier than the Invaders his friend was on. They are a sweet ski, wouldn't be my choice for a powder ski but definitely more versatile than the Invader.
haha no way would i use it for a pow ski, yeah my "pow"/bc ski is a 187.. but i got 178 invaders and i might grab some anthems later in the season and 178 seems a bit short to me, especially when there center mounted
I dunno, I personally think around 180 is the perfect park ski length for a fully grown, average sized male. I'm 5'9" 160 so about as average as you can get, and the past 3 park skis i have bought have been 180-181. 178 is pretty damn close to 180, ya know? Depending on how they measure, it could actually be 180+. You are pretty tall, but pretty damn skinny I don't think you would want to go any bigger than 180-185 in the park.
I would say that if you like the flex/durability of the Invaders, but just want something a tad more stable the Anthem will be fine.
