and once again im reminded that, although you think you can run off no sleep when you have your beer in hand and its 2am...
you will most definitely regret you were even born in the morning.

I used to have to get up at 5 or 530 to get to work. now i'm in school though so the earliest I'll ever get up is 7:15. that doesn't happen too often though.

8:30 is the earliest i had to go in to work, and i thought getting up at 7:45 to do that was bad. now school has started, and i have to get up at 6:45, and drive 20 miles. at least i get out early every day, and will ski a lot more now.

I used to wake up at 7 (or 6 if i was in bozeman) to work at a ski resort, and some nights i would get so hammered and wake up at 6am and go to work, and like you said, you wished you were never born, it was horrible.

yeah I totally know the feeling, you think you are fine for sleep the night before, but then its the morning, and your eyes are so puffy they hurt and you cant even string a sentence together no matter how much coffee you drink.
but then theres those odd mornings where you get like 3 hours of sleep and wake up with a ton of energy. and thats what you remember in order to rationalize partying before an early morning.

in the summer i had to go in at 4am a few days because of the iron man in lake placid. Other then that its usually like 6 or so. Now that im in school my early class is at 9 and i can see the building from here.

i was up at 4 45/ 5ish dependign on the site location to work for a drywall company all summer long. the first few weeks blow ass but you start to get used to it.
And i boozed one night one time the evening before i had to get up, it was a tuesday night, and never did again the entire summer. The whole next day was the worst day of my summer.

yeah man that's the truth. i work for an electrician and i have to get up at 5 ish too. all it takes is one time drinking the night before work and you'll never ever do it again. you think it's all good to and you can just get through it. i mean, you get through it, but it's pretty much the worst thing ever.

Maybe it's a different case working construction...cause I would just leave the party, go to the worksite and sleep in the truck until my boss would knock on my door....then id pop a couple of nodoz and tylenol and start working...you work so hard that you forget about it...

I'm a steel erector, gotta get up every day between 3.30am - 6am depending on where to go, been lucky the last two weeks it's been 5.30am. Mostly get to bed between 10-11pm after chilling at home with a few beers and some good music.
Best jobs are when you have to go abroad, just work from sunrise till sunset for 7 to 14+ days straight... well, the work isn't good, the cashing in part is the best bit of it.
Don't intend to do this shit for much longer though, it's wrecking me and won't leave me much time for skiing since the closest mountain is a 12h drive. Hoping on some projects abroad soon so I can make some quick cash and head of to France for the winter season, would be ideal!

Yup I have to be at work at 5:30 am, it blows but once you are up it is a nice part of the day. It sucks to drink before but i work 3 days on 3 off then nights so I can usually wait...although I am going partying tommorow night and work sunday at 5:30. It just blows when your leaving the bar realising that you work in 3 hours....and I have to be sober for this one, the old job not so much.

Yep, Been working on a golf course for 6 years now. I'm getting better now, I'm taking every other weekend off, but last summer I took 3 weekends off for the whole summer, with puting 75hrs in a week, it kicked the shit out of me. Plus I party like 2 nights a week at least, you just have to man up and drive very carefully to work, when you only have a couple of hours to sober up in the morning.

i worked in an ikea warehouse for 5 months 5 days a week 4am-11am. i got used to it. i could never train myself to go to bed before 11 so i would just nap for an hour after work. on the bright side, you get done with work and have the whole day left.

I used to get rediculously hammered sat. nights right before our lacrosse carwashes (get up at 6, be there at 7), and wash cars all day on a hangover. I'd just drink mad mountain dew and just try to make the best out of it.

well see, with manual labor...its like skiing...the first couple of intense runs you might get a little sore but once you get in the groove its not so bad....with a desk job all you can do all day is sit there and think about it...its the same way when I go to early classes after a night of heavy duty...

I was lucky enough to get placed in the 12-5 afternoon shift during the two summers I worked there. Opening/closing the store is a shitty job though.

I had to work construction at 5:30 in the morning and I know all about this. Here are my solutions.
1. If you're drinking, do not get between 2-7 hours sleep. Any less than two and really you are not getting enough REM (deep) sleep to make you feel really bad the next day, and if you get drunk enough you are still so shitfaced at work that you are fine until 10 or 11. In that case, sneak a mickey with you and continue being drunk for the rest of the day.
2. Smoke a joint when you wake up, it makes you feel better. Better yet, lace the joint, with either coke or dust and you will have a wicked time at work, provided you don't die or have to go to the hospital.
3. Coke, methadone, crystal meth, Heroine, ecstasy, Pcp, among others will allow you to go to work, not feeling tired and not needing to sleep for days. I recomend crystal meth, it is the cheapest and best.
These helped me through my year and now I am fine. I found this computer at an internet cafe and it still had 2 minutes left and there is about 3 dollars change in the charity cup that I am about to steal after I am done typing this. Oh and you're welcome.
