Do people at school or work etc recognise you as (Bob) The Skier or whatever?? Since my name is Ryan and it's pretty common at school, it's always like "you know ryan?" "oh ryan who?" "Skier Ryan" "ohh yep him" hahahaha raaaandom as thread.. but yeah

it sucks that doesn't happen to me. i either get:
"do you know chris?"
"chris who?"
"you know creeper chris"
"oh yeah, i know him"
or
"do you know chris?"
"chris who?"
"you know small balled chris"
"oh yeah, that kids bals are so small"
it sucks because i shoot big loads. no one believes me except the girls i creep on.

^ hahah but we don't even get to wear normal clothes.. we got a uniform. But it's because me and my best friend are always talking about some new trailer or whatever talking bout "Ohh man Sammy's change up 3 blind 27 out on that up gap down in ski porn was sick ay" "I thought he 27d on though" and people sit and listen to us... it's actually really creepy that people can even find it remotely interesting when they have no idea what we're on about. Oh and since hes a snowboarder i'm sometimes ryan the snowboarder, which really sucks

Back when I didn't drive I would bring my ski stuff to school on friday so I could go to my friend's house, stay the night, then ski with him on the weekend. During the spring skiing time, with absouluely no snow except for at the 'mountian' people would give me the worst looks and a few would say 'Dude the snow is gone' or 'Ski club ended 2 months ago', and I would have to give many different people the explaination of spring skiing. I don't think that people remember that so I am not 'skier Mike'

^Thats like the opposite to me in summer.. because just up the road theres an indoor place on the way home from school, so in summer when I ride there and I'll say during school "might go for a ski after school" and they'll say isn't it a long drive to the mountain? haha its like 1. Yes it is 6 hours to drive there. 2. IT'S SUMMER IDIOT!

I graduated HS 4 years ago, and there were only a few freeskiers in my whole school, and I was the only one who wore freeskiing clothes to school and whatnot. Jibculture hoodie, NS hoodie, so on and so forth. Plus I had dreads my senior year.
I'd have random people that went to my school that were younger than me whom were familiar, but that I did not know talk to me and know I was the kid who skied. And people from my girlfriends school recognized me as the skier dude too.

I'll see if I can dig any up and scan them in. This was all before digital cameras were all the rage and everyone had them. Haha.
They weren't real long dreads. They were about 6 inches long, and more slim.

Yeah theres only me and one other kid at my school who freeski and i'm the one who got him into it. i'm not called anything like skier or anything, but its known that i ski at every moment during the winter. but people always say dont you ski a lot and stuff like that.
And somebody stated before about spring skiing and people saying that there wasn't snow, that happens all the time. It will be liek the beginning of december and i'll be like yeah im heading up to the hill to ski and they are all like OMG!?! it hasn't snowed yet? or, is there even enough snow to ski? And im like uhhh.. they can make snow ya know. And same with in the spring.. Hasn't all the snow melted already? how can you ski without snow? I don't even bother trying to tell them at that point..

one time we had one of those weird springs where even after its been 20 degrees celcius for a week we get one day thats cold enough to snow. i remember my one friends mom looking out at the tiny dusting of snow and saying that "i must love this" all it did was make me sad because it wasnt enough to ski :(

in my high school there was a good group of skiers and everyone basically knew who we all were. but even at college it helps people remember who i am. meeting new people they remember that i ski better than they remember my name.

I had to dress up in my ski stuff the other day for a business project (we were using strategies and what not to sell ourselves) and I heard the "of course he snowboards, who actually skis these days?" comment. Then I had to go on a rant about how skiing has become more legit and people actually still ski these days.

Well at my school (biggest in NZ, 3500 people) there's virtually no freeskiers, me and one other kid and that's it. However we do have a few racers
