Ultimate ski trip

hey newschoolers, my parents gave my bro and sis a senior trip when they were back in high school and well coming up in april its going to be my turn. My bro went to europe and i could easily do that if i wanted to but i just want to go skiing. So i need to plan the ultimate ski trip of 9 days. i think that i could hit 3 or 4 kickass resorts around north america so where should i go. I'm from maine so basically i want to hit out west. So whats sick. I don't care who has the biggest park becasue i'm not that great of a skier but i want to go somewhere that has tons of different features. So where are the nicest parks and pow in north america?

hit up bc, fly into vancouver drive to whistler and hit up all of the nearby resorts, they are all awsome and known for steep powder. which is pretty much the opposite of east coast skiing

summit county for a few days, then on to utah

hit up Breck, Keystone, Vail, A-basin, then in Utah, hit up Park City, Alta, and Snowbird

definatly fly into vancouver and go to whistler. also about an hr from whistler is kicking horse (dont no how good it is, never been but it is a well known mountain) then if you can take another plane go down to either tahoe (flying into reno?) or you could go to denver and hit up vail, and the mountains around there. I wouldnt go to Breckenridge because u said ur not that good at park and theres better all mountain skiing in colorado then Breckenridge. But definatly go to whistler.

i dont think you should leave bc there is so many resorts. ive only skied at whistler but i have freinds that went on a vacation skiing like 5 mtns there, they said it was awsome and had zero lines outside of whistler

I would try to arrange it for a last minute departure. Watch the weather like a hawk, when west is due for an EPIC dump jump on the phones and get plane tickets.

Find out about epic snow Monday morning, get tickets Monday afternoon, fly out Wednesday morning or something like that. I swear, could be golden.

epic snow means i wouldn't be able to fly into town man. especially colorado or at least i think my bro told me something about a tunnel that gets shut down.

steamboat is a great little mountain. what you will read is totally true. it is so far away from denver that only the hardcore skiers dare to travle the 3 to 4 hrs it takes to get there. there is no bowls but has great tree skiing and no crowds. ur best bet with steamboat is to fly into hayden. because it is not that crowded you will find stashes of powder 2 or 3 days after a dump. great park. and the snow is the lightest you will ever find. overall i have nothing bad to say about steamboat accept for the no bowls part. hope that helps.

Don't hit up vail. Its a great mountain but in April, a lot of the mountain is gunna be closed. The stuff thats gunna be open is gunna be tracked out and dirty. However the park is awesome but mostly big expert features.

Whistler, however is perfect in April. The botttom part of the mountain has absolutly no snow on it which is perfect. The top of the mountain has all the good stuff, bowls, steeps, hidden stashes, cliffs, etc. with good snow. Its like a winterwonderland up there. There are also two huge mountains so you won't get bored. And people build big booters inbounds. The park is also super-dope. There is an infinite amount of rails and good sized jumps. The town is all pedestrian and has so much shit to do.

The bad part is that sometimes the mountain gets really foggy. But since its so big, you can go to another side of the mountain and its blue skies.

so yea, I vote whistler.

depends when in april for hood, some years its sick pow others its complete park, and some years it should be park but management sucks so its just shit.
i wouldnt go to hood for a vacation its not that nice (except for timberline in the summer)

i was just talking to my parents and the trip is going to be bumped into febraury so that might change things. Also its turning into a family vacation but i'll ditch for park a lot of the time and i might bring one of my snowboarder friends along with us.

kicking horse is a shitload more than an hour from whistler mabye 8 hours ish i would fly to kelowna hit up big white kicking horse some interior cat skiing red mountain something like that and ditch the coastal skiing the interior gets better weather
