Appendix wtf

I hate those damn things wtf do they do but fuck you up when they feel like it. So sunday night i was out drinking i got fucking SMASHED then next day i felt sooo shitty and i was in immense pain in my stomach so i was like fuck i can't move. I started puking and it hurt so bad so i went to the ER and they took their sweet ass time to see me. So they were liek your appendix needs to come out so they did that and basically recovery sucks. i was wondering tho what makes ur appendix burst. Could it have had anything to do with the drinkin?

well to answer your first question we all used to use our appendix when we ate raw meat and tree bark and shit like that. now that we're all not cave men we dont use it much. we watched one get removed once in health class. it was pretty sweet

your appendix becomes infected and eventually bursts. they do blood tests to determine your white blood cell count to determine the severity of the infection. if it's bad enough then it comes out. my sister had appensitis a couple years ago but got over it and the infection went away so it didn't need to come out

Cows have so many stomaches (called rumen) becasue they act as bioreacters with microbes doing the job of breaking down the complex polymers that are starch and stuff.

i had mine removed too, it really sucked, i have never felt worse in my life before they took it out, recovery was'nt that bad, about a week i think

Before they took mine out my white blood cell count was somewhere around 17000... I woke up to the doc telling me I almost died and then spent the next 3 days in the hospital recovering. And the next 2 weeks at my house. It sucked.

appendix's get infected because food that wasn't digested "poop" while going from you small intestine into your large intestine gets pushed down or jsut stuck in your appendix which is right off of your large intestine where the small and large meet.... the "food" gets stuck and eventually infected if it doesn't come out...

i had the old appendix out this past summer.  i had been sick a couple days and then in the middle of the night i was lying naked on the floor in the bathroom and my roommate decided it was bad enough to take me in.  good thing, too, cause i probably never would've gone on my own account...i'm stupid/too proud.  the doc said it was one of the biggest most inflamed he'd ever seen one of those suckers without bursting (burst appendix=infection spread throughout midsection=bad/small chance of death).  anyway, they took it out through my belly button, so the scars inside there, kinda dope.  take it easy though...i know it blows.  i tried to go back to normal too quick and had a few painful/exausted episodes on the ball court and/or running and whatnot.  get better soon, hannah..

your sister could still need it out though, really she should of got it out. i did the same thing, they made me stay overnight and if it got better i wouldnt need it out. it got better so i thought i was in the clear. about 6 months later, on christmas fucking day i had appendicitis again and this time i just said fuck it and got it taken out.

to thread creator, the recovery kinda sucks. i thought once i got out of surgery id feel fine but fuck was i wrong. it took me like a week-week and a half to be out skiing again. not like park but just cruising, 2 weeks full recovery. good luck.

your appendix is an obsolete organ that may have been used to digest leaves as primates. it's no longer of any use now, other than to become infected like yours did.
i don't know if drinking can have any effect.
what i do know is that getting SUPER SMASHED MAKES YOU SUPER COOL!!!!11

I feel you pain Hannah, I had appendicitis when I was 8, I was sick for 2 days before I went to the hospital, it took 4 hours to determine that it is an emergency. I was told that I almost died on the table, when the doctors removed it, it burst and material got in. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital;2 days in intensive care. I coulnt sit up, stand up and peeing hurt so bad. All I remember is a fucking baby crying in the room beside me.
