Today was the first day in my macro economics class, I am 18, by far the youngest member of my class of 12. Many of the people in it are probably 30ish range. The first question the professor asks is how many people know who your senator is? I knew and some girl and some dude knew. Then he goes how many people know who your representative is? Me, the same girl and some other dude knew this one. Then he asked, how many people vote? About 6-8 people raised their hand and said they vote. It pisses me off that people that ill informed vote and cancel out perfectly informed votes.

Until someone comes along with some SERIOUS ideas about the goverment's/2 party election system reform I feel no need to take part in a stupid ass popularity contest.

I vote because it doesn't make a difference and because of representative democracy. Why should a person in Vermont's vote cast 3 times the power of mine? We should reinstate the 3/5ths vote for those dumb, whitetrash hillbillys.

you make no sense.. I vote because it doesnt make a difference sounds pretty contradictory to me Why should a person in Vermont's vote cast 3 times the power of mine? a person in vermont doesnt have 3 times the voting power, they might get more electoral college votes because they have a bigger population than you. We should reinstate the 3/5ths vote for those dumb, whitetrash hillbillys. The 3/5 representation meant that in a census a slave counted as 3/5 of a person, it would have no effect on vermonts population

sorry i should've continued, im drunk.

i don't know who my senator is because i don't focus on who wins. i focus on who i want to win. thats all. just because they aren't current on politics does not make their vote invalid. take some poli-sci classes and be happy those people actually vote.

ps: welcome to our system, it sucks but we don't have a better alterntive.
