mountain filming tips

hey, i recently got a new sony trv33 mini dv camcorder and I expect to take it up to whistler this winter for a little filming action. I haven't done any mountain filming before with lots of light and snow so I was wondering how it will affect the camera. You know, like the glare off of the snow and just white-ness all around. Any tips would be great!

you're camera if it is fairly high end should have a snow setting, meaning it will make the light darker so it will be more even and you will see definition in the snow and whatnot, read your manual

Just get out and film lots - practice, practice practice. The snow will make the camera think it's too bright, so like the guy said, use the snow/sand setting if it has one (don't think the TRV33 does though), or adjust the shutter speed/aperture manually if you know what you're doing.

I just won a GL1 on eBay, with spare battery, bag and light - I can't wait to start using it.

Yeah, there might be a 'Beach and Ski' setting. You could also pick up a UV filter I think for it.
