It is good that kids make resumes and contact companies (I admit that I have done it and it worked) but the truth is the best skiers were contacted by companies. I think to get the most recognition you just have to be super sick and compete a lot. If you can get a company to recognize your talent then I think you got it good. Don't get me wrong contacted the companies of your dreams is still good, just dont lie on your resume caue most likely it will come back at you!

Yeah, I sent in a resume once that was completely fake with no intention of actually getting sponsored, but I sent in like pictures of me in a half-pipe like 8 years ago and I couldn't even air out. It was mad crazy 8-D

But isn't part of being sponsored that they pay for travel expenses so that you can get to major competions and what-not?

not everyone is open to the companies. not everyone lives in regions where companies think to look. not all good skiers get noticed, it's that easy. not all have the opportunity to.

skiing is a hobby for most of us, maybe verging on a lifestyle. its like when we were all kids and we wanted to be astronaughts or the teenage mutant ninja turtles only a few of us can. Its the same with skiing. Dont push yourself to the big companies, because if you fit their marketing strategy they will come to you. If you dont fit into their picture it just wasn't meant to be. It's as simple as that.

Yeah, Skibumming is as much a sport as skiing itself...
