I just stumbled upon this show on the history channel, and I must say pretty interesting. The 2 guys are cheezy, sure, and their stunt-junkie diagrams using physics and mathematics sucks (but for the record, is kind of interesting, more then stunt junkies). OTher then that, thought it was interesting and entertaining.
It's an entertaining show to watch, but the whole premise is stupid as fuck. Let's send a couple guys around to the best dojos in the world and let them train for two whole days! That's how fighters are made! /sarcasm.
It can take a lifetime to master a martial art, a couple days isn't going to do shit. The way a martial art is learned is through repitition. Only after you've done a move hundreds of times, will you be prepared to use that move in a fight. For example, the episode where they pit the jujitsu american guy against the badass judo guy. Jujitsu guy trys to do the new moves he learned, but they don't do shit, and he ends up getting worked.
I think they hold their own pretty well, the Eskrima one the guy got the fight stopped by breaking his finger and the Plankration one he almost one had he not punched that dude right upside his had.
true, but although i've never seen the show, i imagine the guys who travel around aren't trying to master the different styles as just trying to explore and demonstrate different stuff. i dunno
^Yeah, one of them fought in the MMA though so he can hold his own against some of the guys because he'll use an MMA move and it throws them off because they have never seen it before
