No free freeskier for canadians?

So i was cleaning my room and i found a free freeskier card thing.
i was like oh hell ya so i fill it all out and then i read the fine print at the bottom.
*offer valid to US addresses only. Requests subject to publishers approval.
why is it only valid to us addresses?

Shipping to foreign countries (including Canada) is expensive. Free doesn’t exactly cover these costs.

What most people don't understand is that subscription cost hardly means anything to a magazine. Most of the income comes from advertisers. Many magazines only charge a subscription price so people don't abuse a free subscription.

I live in Montreal, Canada and I got one of those free subscrition things in a DVD...mine worked though and I received a year's worth of Freeskier.

Just try it. If it works, its a bonus. If it doesn't, what do you lose? It was only valid for US addresses in the first place anyways...
