i dont think ive been high enough to not be able to drive, even the highest ive been when my vision started flashing i would be able to handle it. It makes me waay more aware of whats going on around me

i just had jury duty. it was a DUI case. the guy had pulled over to smoke a j on his way home from a job installing gutters. he was goin up a road in the hills and lost control, couldn't react, and hit a car coming downhill on the other side of the road. here's the thing. the other car was driven by a 17 yr old girl with her little sister (8) and brother (4) in the back. they were on their way to their grandparent's house for new years. the stoner dude had a scratch on the side of his head. the girl driving was pinned between the wheel and her seat for a couple hours with a broken leg. the little boy broke his eye socket, jaw, cheek bone, and skull above the temple, and lost enough blood to pass out. he can function pretty normal now, but he has scars. oh yeah, while he was bleeding he held on just long enough to tell his sister in the front that his other sister was lying dead next to him.

i listened to those kids describe that ordeal. i listened to that man explain how it makes him feel knowing that's what he caused. believe me, nobody would want to feel that way. it's not cool.

I think a lot of you are missing the point. You should not drive when you are impaired - whether that means you are drunk, tired, stoned, taking cold medicine, eating or talking on your cell phone. Driving when you are objectively impaired is extremely irresponsible.

Specifically in regard to marijuana - read the literature - having taken THC does not have a causal relationship with increased risk of traffic accident.

Incidentally, talking on your cell phone does have a causal relationship with increased accident rates - as, naturally, does alcohol.

i got a dui when i was 17 for being drunk and stoned

they pulled me over and where like blah blah blah knew i was drunk and then looked under my seat and found a half smoked pipe still hot from when i was hittig it befor i got pulled over.

but the problem with drunk driving is that its adictive like the first time u do it when ur like 16 and you are fine and get where your going, ur like damn well i guess thats not a problem then,

but weed? com on now! i smoke blunt after blunt after bong after joint, after gravity bong, after spliff, after vaporizer and then go driving in a blizzard not a problem dude... the end

Your plan is foiled. I dont drink or smoke, and have no intent on doing so anytime soon. My friends respect my decisions, and hell, I'm the one driving them home most of the time. I dont need to drink to have a good time. I guess I've never felt any pressure to.

Also, I'm going to university, and I'll still be at home. My family is really strict against drunk driving. My parents wont be pissed if I were to call and need a ride. Its the responsible thing to do.

As I said, its retarded to drink and drive. It puts you, and other motorists in alot of danger.

you blew this shit way put of proportion, different people react differently to alcohol, i personally have a high tolerance, some people (like myself) can tell they're drunk and compensate for it while driving, others cannot, and i don't drive drunk if i'm tired or absolutely shit housed

i got hit by a drunk this summer, i was so ready to knock the shit outa him when i was told he was drunk but i had to take care of my younger sister and cousin who were in the ambluance, i think friends who dont do everything they can (which includes punching there friend) to stop someone from driving drunk should feel just as responsible, all my friends are well aware that i'll tackle and stop them by any means if they try to drive once they've started drinking

Driving high, as long as you're not incoherent, is pretty damn safe. I'm sick of kids on here saying that everyone who does it is an idiot. There are numerous studies, some of them included right here in this thread, that prove marijuana does not impair driving ability enough to make any difference in the vast majority of accident situations. Don't even try to pull the "any difference at all when it comes to other peoples' lives is worth it" argument. Two words: Cell phones. Massively more distracting and likely to cause an accident, but they're fucking legal to drive with (aside from a few exceptions in some states).

Driving drunk is stupid.




But outrageously fun.

Think about this, weed makes most people paranoid during stressful situations, myself included. When you're driving, and you're high, you're more likely to be careful. When you're drunk, you're just completely out of it. At least when you're high you can realize whats going on around you..

They are both wrong, and both illigal. Neither is better, and neither is worse. They are both stupid, mindless things to do, and put yourself and others in danger.

I dont care what studies have been done, and it doesnt really matter of you have done it. Neither is better or worse. BOTH are wrong, irresponsible, illigal, and dangerous to do.
