Im thinking of getting into this sport, but know nothing about it. I was wondering if someone could answer my questions. What matters when im looking for a kite? Where can i find a good deal? and just general comments about the sport
my bro has the whole setup for it and tryed using it once but he couldnt really getup and he's a good wakeboarder too, my thoughts are that it is a pretty tough sport to pick up so take lessons... and make sure you have ALL the equipment, there is a lot to have, make sure ur not missing any key components of the setup. good luck.
before you get a full sized kite, i suggest you invest in a 'trainer' kite. they fly very similar to kiteboard kites but are onlly about 1m-4m in size. you fly them just standing in a field. they help you get the feel for a kite very well. look into naish kites btw
well i think it would be wise to ask sumone who actually does the sport for ur board situation... b/c my bro's got a wakeboard, and then he has his kiteboard... i think there's 2 types... ones that look like big wakeboards and ones that look like short surfboards... my bro has the one that looks like a surfboard with bindings
no its actually really easy i live in hood river which is kiteboarding mecca. so i tried and it was easy but i didnt like how cold the water was so i quit
no you dont want a wakeboard...unless you plan on takin the bindings off and buying the kiteboard bindings...
but if you were planning on doin that, itd be better to just buy a kiteboard wit the bindings already on it. you'd get a better deal
a wakeboard would work but kiteboards are better cuz they are longer, more stable goin over waves and they are lighter
me and some friends got into it a few yrs ago and it was really fun we just dont have time to go anymore
but yea man go for it. its a blast. but it does take a while to learn cuz you gotta fly the kite, and ride your board at the same time so its kinda tricky at first
