I am looking for a new pair of skis for this season, and my dad wants me to buy them at GI Joes.
What they've got: Salomon Temptress, Mynx, 1080 Thruster, and Dynastar Trouble Makers.
I'm 5'4" and about 150 (ew, I know.) I'm looking for an all-mountain ski for Mt. Baker. I am about 70 or 80 percent ungroomed, off trails, and looking to start doing the park a bit this year.
do you think any of the above skis would be good for me.

toublemakers in a 160-170 should be perfect for you.

And if it helps, right now I'm riding a pair of 162 Rossi Saphirs, 114/83/85...they're basically groomer cruising skis...they're more my mom's style than mine.

the trouble makers only come in 155 and 175...i think 175 would be too long for me.

do not get the thrusters. they are a park noodle, not good at all for all mountain.

salomon mynx 166. The temptress is probably too narrow.

would the mynx's 83-inch waist be wide enough for the baker snow?

83 inch could float on water...haha just kidding
you mean 83mm. but i would say go closer to 90 for baker.

maybe a 169 k2 nancy if you can find them. these would really excel in the deep stuff and if you are fairly aggressive. Plus you could mount them a bit ahead of recommended so they ski shorter. They wont feel much longer than the rossi sapphire as with the twin tip you lose so much length.

rossi make the scratch girl bc which is 90mm in the waist, it comes in a 150,160 and 171 and they should be super cheap right now. and its still the same ski for next year.

i think the missys would be a bit too thin for baker. i'm lookin for something more around a 90.
the nancys would be good...but i dunno.

since you ski so much pow/ungroomed, i think you might want something a bit fatter than any of the skis you mentioned in your original post. amongst the ones you listed, the best one for you would prolly be the mynx. like it's been said, the 169 nancys would be great. also, the 165 armada arv or 165 line celebrity would definitely be skis to consider (if you could get them at that shop - not familiar with it). i have the 165 arv's if you have any questions.

go as fat as you can, itll help on those gnar days. i used rossi scratch fs's for baker for a whole season, including tit deep pow at baker, so as fat as you can as i first said.
