its working for me....but i urge you with all my might dont get vista im gonna rant about it for a bit
vista runs 64 bit whereas xp runs 32 bit...half of the programs that were made for xp will not run right in vista. in vista you get these little pop ups where you have to confrim like every action you did and it really starts to piss you off even when i turn it off i still get them for some things. vista runs sooo much shit in the background that you have to turn off i have 3g of ram in my new laptop when i turned it on when i got it i was running at 60% JUST RUNNING VISTA. this slows everything down. and sometimes youll do little shit like try and delete a folder...screen goes dark little windows comes up saying confrim....clik confrim....another pop up YOU HAVE TO CONFRIM THIS....try again or cancel?...you clik try again....same window pops up....great vista you just made it so i cant delete a simple folder without restarting my computer and trying again..cause ive found with vista restarting your computer seems to temporarily fix most problems.
pretty much vista is just pretty but dosent run well if your doing anything besdies like email and msn and broswing..
ive had it crash on me about 6 times just when i add a new driver or plug in that wont be compatible then i have to go in thru dos and go find it and delete it thru there anywayy hugeee waste of time i hate it its ruined my life dont get it. and i havent even said all the problems with vista here wait a few more months until they fix it
^ turn UAC off, thats what i did and all the annoying popups and shit went away. 1st time i tried running jibberish it didn't work, eh, maybe it will now
for uac go run (or task manager then clik new task) type msconfig then scroll down until you see something like uac off or something i forgot whats its called clik on it and clik launch
There are 2 versions of vista, 32 and 64. If you got the 64 bit version you should have been aware that there would be compatability issues with older programmes, but that you would have better compatability into the future. I've got a 64bit processor but I'm using the 32bit version because I decided it would be better to have more compatability with older stuff.
uhh and how exactly do you use DOS on vista? Vista doesn't run on DOS.
lol I don't think there is a run button, instead you use the searchbar in the start menu, you just type in 'run' and press enter, or you can type 'cmd.exe'
actually the searchbar thing works quite similar to run, you can just type in firefox or word etc and it will launch them
