The Grinch

Has anyone heard of 'The Grinch'? If you haven't then I'll try explaining. It is basically a subaru engine with a green metal covering over it. It is connected to 600' of line and a wakebording handle. It is designed to be used for skimboarding and stuff like that in the water.

I was thinking that this would be sick for urbans or just to mess around with on skis. Heres a video that some of my friends made of the grinch. Its on lake michigan, some pond, a pool, and a road. check it out....

first off, its made for wakeboarding. dont give skimboarders credit for that. they use it for areas too shallow/narrow to get a jet ski or boat into.

and its too expensive to use for skiing, they run at about 2000 to 4000. just tow in with a bike if u have to but dont buy a winch


AAANNNNDDDD if u are gunna get a winch, get a blackbox by hypoxic films. cheapest and best made

actually, there $2200 and im sorry that i thought that it was kinda cool and i thought it would be fun just to mess around with in the winter.

grinch is 2200, but then blackbox is about 2000, and the expensive ones like tractor are about 4000

and what i was saying is that it would be cool to do if u had one from wakeboarding, but its a lot of money to spend if u just use it for skiing

i've seen a video of snowboarders using one of those to hit a handrail. personally i think it's a great (though extremely expensive) idea for urban. much more portable and practical than a drop in, and i'm not sure if you've ever ridden a bike on snow/ice, but getting the kind of speed you'd need to tow someone into a handrail would be sketchy as hell.

that would be neet. there are some spots that would be cool. we just resort to using sign posts and tieing a rope to the car and sling shotting. works pretty well.

i highly doubt it's a subaru engine!

it's a small engine with a gearing ratio of roughly 90:1. they come with a 2" receiver hitch that can be attached to most trailer hitches on trucks. primarily used for wakeskaters.

you're right, the car-sling works well, but this would work in places where there isn't a sign or space is too cramped for a car.
the price makes it out of most kid's range, but it's still a pretty cool idea.

they were using one in front of boadsports for there wake boarding demo, its really gay if you ask me. but then again people think skiing in the city is gay too.

A kid with a wakeboard winch let a few snowboarder friends and me use it to urban wallride a fountain at my school last year. It was a really cool toy, but it would've been just as easy to use a car tow-in.
