Replying to Karma is going to fuck me over any day now
There's a lot of background to this so try to keep track of what's going on, I'll try to tell this the best I can but it may seem erratic... Last night I was over at a friend's house and his dad was in Vegas... his mom is probably the chillest parent I've ever met and agreed to let him have a party without telling his dad using her alcohol. She was around the house which sounds kind of lame, but it was actually awesome because we were all getting hammered and she didn't care whatsoever, just laughed and joked with us whenever we saw her.
I was about three beers in and wanted to go on a burn cruise with some of the kids there, so we talked to his mom and convinced her I was OK to drive (her one rule was that no one drove) and we went out.
Now, my car's tires are fucked. I've had to inflate them every other
day for months and I was just going to try and make them work until
October when I get winter tires. I completely forgot about this when we left, so I'm cruising around at about 70...
I'm going around this pretty brutal turn (for 70mph anyways) when all of a sudden I hear "POP" and my car immediately skids to the left, going completely sideways. I cross the middle line so I downshift and start trying to pull out but my car was out of control. My rear tires were on the dirt on the left side of the road, the front of my car was in the left lane. I quickly checked my speedometer and it read 50. While I was sideways. Yeah. Lucky there weren't cars coming the other way... Finally managed to pull out into the road so I went back to my lane, pulled over, and got out.
Nothing was wrong with my car except for a very blown rear tire, and no one was hurt despite the fact that my skis hanging over the edge of the backseat from the trunk, ready to slice someone's jugular. Later we checked out the skid marks and talked to my friend in the backseat and determined that the rear of the car was no more than a foot from the guardrail which sat on top of a river about 10 feet below while I was skidding alongside it. We got the tire changed, my car ran fine, and we went home.
Now, try to contemplate how much could have gone wrong. It's impossible. I would've blown over had I hit someone or something, which means I would've gotten a DUI. I would've had to get a new car because at that speed in that situation it would've totaled (especially if we'd hit that guardrail or worse, gone through it), and I don't have the money for it. Oh yeah, not to mention I had just convinced his mom I was OK to drive and wouldn't have an accident and had I hit something, she would've been ripshit at me even if she didn't get fucked for letting kids drink at her house (which is very possible).
As it was... no cops, no accident, no injuries, no damage... something terrible is going to happen to me any day haha.
