Mexican strat

im sorry but they are not well worth it, it won't hold a tunning after some use, and the pick-ups are crap. but for a weekend warrior, its fine, if you enjoy it, thats all that matters.

i beg to differ, i consider myself an intense player, and my strat has held up very well for the past few years, it never goes out of tune, granted i am probably going to get a new guitar very soon, probably a PRS, but i was very happy with my mexi.

If your guitar won't hold a tuning right, it's because YOUR guitar is not setup properly. I'm not sure what you mean by the pickups being crap either, I mean they're not Custom Shop Texas Specials or anything but they give out that classic Strat tone and that's what matters. I have a 1996 40th Anniversary Mexican Stratocaster, which I got in 1996 and it still plays beautifully. I have since replaced the nut with a Tusq nut, and refretted the guitar with lower profile frets only once. For someone that wants a Strat and can't fork over enough dollars for an American Standard Strat, you really can't go wrong with the Mexican Strat. Like I said earlier though, if your guitar sounds like shit and/or plays like shit, maybe you should take it to a competent repairman if you can't do the adjustments yourself.

they are decently good. i played my roommate's mexican "fat strat" (humbucking bridge pickup?) all last year and it was ok. I prefer mine though...1972 American strat, everything original (other than frets, I had to have it refretted). The pickups are so smooth and nice.

i have a fake strat that i bought for 200 dollars, it holds the tuning fine. i only tune like every 2 weeks and its usually just the high e, i play everyday too. so i dont know what you're talking about.

you can tell its not an american strat but its still a great guitar and well worth the price

mexican ones are chaeper and just as good. if i was ever forced to buy a fender it would be a mexican one.

as for the fool who made the first post, he might have gotten it confused with a squier strat, which suck balls. wost guitars that someone could buy. (which means other than first act, and other "target" brands)

i like mine alot, ive had it for about a year and it still plays nicely, oh and i only paid $75 for it!

yeah i liked mine
