I'm from Massachusetts, the Berkshires in particular (which are beautiful as well), and I am blown away. I just drove up I91 and I89, and I truly am amazed. I'm going to look at UVM tomorrow, and I want to live here.
Share your stories of Vermont and add any input for me.
Also, I will plan a ski trip for me and my buddies to go to next winter, which resorts should we hit up?

by the way back to your original point...
Mountains you must ride at least once:
Jay Peak
Mad River Glen
Stowe
Magic Mountain
Watch out for the Burlington cops. They love to bust college kids for just about anything (especiallllyyy sliding rails).

let me guess you live in jersey or something and are upset that your state smells like a sewage plant?
^ and most cops in burlington will just tell you to leave...

Yeah 802 pwns bitches
89 and 90 are alright, but if you really want to see countryside, take a drive up route 14 through stowe, or go to the Northeast Kingdom. Lots of untouched, old-growth forest and truly green mountains. Also, do the tourist thing and go in the Fall, the foliage is without a doubt, beautiful.

im surprised that you haven't been to vermont seeing that you live in the berkshires and ski jiminy. if i lived that close to vermont i would drive the extra hour or 2 to get to vermont

Magic is so old school. A lot like MRG. Go when there is a lot of snow. its fucking epic. The place is ALWAYS completely empty. Basically every trail is a black diamond or double black, and there is also a TON of completely untouched woods riding. So dope.
Bromley is also a classic VT mountain. Small but its got so much heart. I believe its also the only Southern facing mountain in Vermont, always in the sun.

VT and Maine are both damn awesome and scenic, but I'm a bigger fan on NH, mainly because I live here.

yeah the only time I really appreciate it is when I'm skiing or on a mellow bike ride.
but yeah skodeo magic and bromley are sick. bromley got great glades and cruisers and the east side is sick when the conditions are good. at magic I got lost when I was real young and I was going down this glade and came out on this "Trail" with sick powder, but then I starting seeing all these condos or rental houses or whatever. So I thought it was on mountain housing, but then a car pulled out behind me lol. It was a crazy time. good glades at magic too.

I went Vermonting this weekend, though I go Vermonting every weekend, as I live here, but I got to the Cider Mill in Waterbury to get a cider slushie and they were out of cider. What is this world coming to?

hahaha what a real sample of vermont. bennington and brattleboro are shitholes. bennington a little more than brattleboro. bromley is awesome. i grew up on bromley it's such a sick mountain. i really like okemo alot too.
^^yo that cider mill is the best. when i was little i went to get a sample from that huge tank by the room where the press is, and the valve broke off and cider went everywhere.

it is beautiful, i love living here. i stopped taking it for granted a while ago, now i enjoy every part of it. whenever im away for too long i miss the smell of the air, and not having trees and water and stuff around me. i couldn't stand living somewhere with smog or huge billboards.

Sometimes i think we have too much green here. I can't look anywhere without seeing green, and it's depressing, because it reminds me of not having snow, then i want to kill myself because i can't go skiing. Fuck green.
Have you seen it after the leaves fall off, and there is no snow? Then its like Jersey, and it's disgusting.

This is one reason I love VT. The air smells perfect. Vermont is a definite destination point for me, and hopefully one day to call my home. Fucking gorgeous.
And thread creator, Jay Peak is a MUST. The layout of the mountain is amazing. The whole experience of Jay was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better trip. I will be going back year after year for sure.

I missed your post, and I have this to say:
You can not compare Vermont with DIRTY Jersey. Are you freakin kidding me? You should be smacked upside the head to knock some god damn sense into you.

I live in NH about 15 minutes from vermont, if that...
All the people i go to school with are always talking about how they wanna go to the city and get away from this place, I personally like it here, it looks nice, fresh air, and don't have to worry about all the things of city life like hardcore traffic and gangs and shit
