Your shop charges people $25 to mount skis even if they buy them at the shop?
What a shit business. I would never even think to represent that shop in any way. Charging people $25 when they just dropped a few hundred on skis, to take 10 minutes of their time to drill some holes and screw in some screw.

dude...it's soooo much more than that. I agree it sucks to throw mad cash like that around, but there is SOOO much liability stuff that goes w/ mounting skis. and if it were "10 minutes of their time to drill some holes" everyone would be able to do it. There's the cost of employees, drills, bits, jigs, insurance, binding check machine etc etc. Its not just 10 minutes and it's not just drilling some holes.

Considering I have mounted bindings with a buddy who works in a shop, there really isn't much to it. It really is just 10 minutes, and it's shitty business practice to charge someone $25 to mount the skis they just bought from your shop for a few hundred dollars.
I can understand the arguement if they are bringing in skis to have mounted and charging them for that.
And then the local guys bitch on why people buy shit online. Unbelievable.

ski barn is ridiculous when it comes to prices.. everything is way over priced and the people working there dont really know whats up when it comes to twin tips... they are more concerned with selling an expensive setup to someone who doesnt know whats what

true that
princeton ski shop rips you off too.
i bought a pair of bindings from them, and they wouldnt let me just buy the bindings and have the ski shop i worked at mount them for free. i paied like $50 to have them mounted, not to mention they gave me lip about wanting my bindings mounted center. and it took them 3 weeks to mount the bindings. i ended up not being able to use my skiis till the next year. and my last day of riding that year was the worst iv ever experienced, i had to use rental boots with snowblades. .cough.
both maui north and mountain and boarder town (in lake placid) have the best gear and service iv ever experienced. i picked out the skiis and bindings and immiedatly they were mounted at no extra charge. not to mention they threw a pair of new ski poles in for half price.

I would've walked out the door the second they told me I had to pay them to have the bindings mounted.
Shops like that don't deserve the business.

Moui is the shit! i have gone in there 5 minutes after they closed and they mounted up a pair of skis for me that night. free of charge. I always thought it was a given that if you buy bindings at a store that the mounting charge was free. I guess i just got spoiled by them
