I am still new to Macs and in the process of transferring stuff from my PC. What program could I use to rip and burn dvds on my mac? and if I have DVDs saved in folders on my PC will they still be readable by the apple dvd player? thanks.
IF you want the DVD's in mpeg4, like for ipods and such, use Handbrake, a free program, just google it. apparently Mac the Ripper is good for just getting the DVD onto your comp, but it will be a big file size and will be better quality...
use mac the ripper to copy it onto your hard drive, it will give you a video_ts folder. if you drag that video_ts folder onto the dvd player icon, it will play. use toast titanium to compress and burn to a dvd. i've been doing it quite a bit, let me know if you want more in depth instructions.
Yeah me too! Ive used Handbrake too and Im not a huge fan. With Toast you can go to Video and Burn from Video_TS and just find the one that you ripped. Super easy and shit.
I do have another question though, What do you guys use to burn movies encoded by DivX to DVD, if you use Toast Titanium they wont play on over half of the DVD players on the market. I have been using this one program called "Burn" and they work on about 80% of DVD players but the program has little features and is pretty lame. Anyone know of a program that will burn DivX encoded movies to DVD and play on virtually all DVD players?? Thanks!
