Replying to Cigar

my sister gave me a cuban as a present from a trip she went on ad i want to save it to smoke it with a friend of mine whos pretty much a cigar afficionado. the problem is hes been in alaska since june and wont be back til the end of september. so im pretty sure by the time hes back (probably at least another month) the cigar will have gone bad and he would be pissed if i had ruined a good cuban and then had proceeded to have him smoke a bad cigar. so, im wondering if there is anyway i could save it and keep it in tip top shape; i know cigar smokers have humidors that do this, but i dont smoke cigars like that and i dont have one so is there any way i could just seal it in something, say a tupperware container, and would this even work? im guessing it might not work because it wouldn't be humidified but im open to any suggestions. thanks
