Word.
I was looking for a pack that I can use for some BC stuff and while skiing to carry shovel, probe, lunch, etc, but I also want to use it for school, and carry a laptop and shit.
Now I know this isnt' exactly a big crossover section, but I was wondering if there were any packs that do it.
Heli Pro II is at the top of my list right now, and that's prime for the skiing part, but if I could find something with a laptop sleeve that might be nice.
Then I was looking at like a north face surge, which is perfect for school, but I can't use it for mountain gear.
is there an in-between, or should I just get a pro II, and have to carry my laptop in a seperate case?

i have the heli pack, and one of my friends has the heli pro, and they're both sick. i use mine for everything, from school, to the mountain, to days at the beach. i just wish it was a little bigger, so the heli pro would be the one to go with.

Bc packs are designed to be fairly lightweight and a lot of time they don't have a whole lot of extra material. I've seen really nice packs get ruined by carrying laptops and books because the sharp edges mixed with putting it on the ground repeatedly year huge holes in the bottom and basically ruin the pack. If I were you, I would get a nice pack for BC, and a cheapy for school.

that is what I am thinking now.
So now, what are opinions on the heli pro (20L) v. the pro 2

my heli 2 has lasted me a while i throw my laptop in there all the time without an issue (laptop sleeves aren't necessary)

I used my Heli Pro for backcountry and in-bounds all last year and plan on using it for school because I'm cheap, if that helps at all. It's great for skiing and I'm not picky when it comes to carrying books, so if you're like me it should work out just fine.

ive got a line backapck and it works pretty well, its the one from this yuear with the white prophet drawings on it. i use it for school and riding and its great and the front part of it is waterproof in case you fall with your backpack on skiing.
