Question for people who live in Portland

If I were looking to buy a house in SE Portland are there up and coming areas still in the SE that are semi affordable to buy in? The people that we met said we should look in North Portland but they weren't skiers and didn't go to Hood that much. Is there a big time difference between living in SE or North and getting to Hood?
Also does anyone have any websites aside from Craigslist that would be good for looking for post production/editing jobs?

Depends on how many people are moving in and the type of area you want to live in. That is, if you want to just live closer to the mountain you can live in gresham for cheap; but you would pretty much be living in the gheto. Or you can just live around metro SE for a fairly reasonable price.
All my friends who live in SE, including myself, live in houses or a duplex with 2-5 people in the metro SE for about 400-500 a month per person. And the best part about living in SE is all the bars, dance places, and house parties. Seriously, there are over 30 bars just in a one mile radius of my place.
And I know this can be a pain in the ass, but the best way to find a place to live is to walk around the area you want to live in and look for "for rent" signs. I saw quite a few inbetween SE stark and SE hawthorne down by the 30s.
Hope that helps, good luck.
