ive read that on some skis like the PEs that mounting forward for core center is not good becuase there is a chance that the bindings will rip out of the ski. im wondering if i mount my chronics -1 front true that the toe will rip out, will they?
i think the big concern was ppl were mounting skis like true center and it was off the binding "mat" and was sometimes ripping out. i dont think it will be a problem
There's always a chance of ripping out, but line skis don't have a special binding mat like k2 so it doesn't matter where you mount. I know a friend who ripped out his toepiece on a pair of centered fujatives.
if you rip them out, you can always get the holes heli-coiled anyway. wouldn't worry about it too much. A heli-coil works a bit like a wall plug, so you make the orignal hole much bigger, stick a heli-coil in it and screw into that. It also makes the chance of another rip-out much less likely.
I know a kid who kept ripping his bindings out of PE's. He was kind of fat, and the shop he brought it to kept putting it in the same holes, just with some epoxy. He was even dumb enough to go back and pay everytime to get them fixed. It was obviously the shop's fault that it fell out again.
