Is this computer a good buy?

Ok so today I was looking around the internet looking for good gaming computers for under $400 bucks.  I was on tiger direct and I found this, http://www.tigerdirect.com/cgi-bin/ShoppingCart.asp?prchbcart=y&msg=  is this a good buy?  I'm not looking to play extremely "demanding" games, the only games I play are Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike:Source.  With shipping this computer costs $430 (which is over $400 but I don't care, its only $30).  Also, I have a copy of Windows XP Professional that I'm planning on installing onto it (I know it will work because I put it on the computer I'm using now, even though it originally has Windows XP Home).  Also, I plan on upgrading the memory from 512mb to about 2gb (In the future).  So, is this a good buy?  Thanks!

I have a spare brand new western digital 40gb hd that I'm gonna put in it to backup important files.  And I'm not sure about 2gb, I'm having second thoughts and might just buy a 1gb stick so I have 1.5gigs.

it should work for what your doing, im playing 1.6 with my computer and its a piece of shit. like actually. 512mb of ram and not even 1 ghz processor and 17gb HD 17 fucking gb! id go for it...cause to upgrade your ram isnt that expensive

seems aight. as long as you have a monitor, and you dont wanna edit or anything, cause you'll need more ram for that. if it was up to me, i'd spend an extra 2 or 3 hundred bux and get a dual core with more ram and HD space

Problem with me spending the hundred bucks to get a better computer is that I don't have a job because I'm too young (No one around here wants to give a job to a 15 year old) and I need to save my money up for a car also.

And about the HD space, I only have 2gbs of music MAX.  And for video editing, I haven't had any problems running Adobe Premiere Elements on my computer I have now (sucky, I now) so I don't see the problem with that.  And to the person about the graphics card.  I'm told that this onboard GFX card can still run source at medium-high detail which is perfect, considering I can't even run low detail on my computer now smoothly.

sounds fair, i'll try not to come off harsh here, but if you look hard enough you will be able to find a job. I got a job through adverisement at school last year, it was farm work, and i was 14. That was last summer. Then last winter, i worked at a resort 45 mins away as an apprentice instructor. And i just finished this summers farm work today, and i'm 15. Loook reallllly hard bro, you'll find something. look on school websites, county websites (i found a tiny amusement park that i could work for on my county's website) and everywhere else. I also visited librarian at my school and she made me and my friend fill out an application, and a few weeks later 3 businesses had contacted us about hiring. but i already had my job.

No video card = no gaming
350W power supply = wont handle a very good video card


Your basically paying for that fancy case. Look for something with atleast 400W power supply so you can atleast get a semi-decent video card. An ok video card can run you another 100 bucks.

I'm not sure if the settings I chose popped up but I upgraded the RAM to the 1024mb 400mhz, GFX Card to the dual ATi 256mb pro dual dvi and tower to the black tower with 400watt power supply.  Only $317.  Definitely a good buy?

if you want a good computer that wont be shit, get one with dual core and ddr2 memory. thats the most upgradable. i play source with my integrated ati graphics card and it runs fine on medium so dont worry about video card that much.

if i were you i would wait for boxing day and go to best buy or something. because they start rolling out new computer in january and you can get old stuff for mad cheap.

do not buy that.
Do not buy bar bones kit. I mean now that the 939 slot is not being made anymore, so 939s are the way to go. but get a better motherboard (MSI, ASUS), at least 1gig of ram, 160 gig hard drive, try to spend 30 bucks on a decent disc drive, 450 watt power supply, go with a x2 3800(overclocking), and as for the case only spend like $30-$50, a 7600gt is a good choice, a couple of fans and a good heat sink.
